New databases


The following databases have been added to KU Libraries Databases A-Z:
Foreign Broadcast Information Service electronic index indexes the Foreign Broadcast Information Services (FBIS) Daily Reports --English translations of news media (broadcasts, newspapers, periodicals, government statements) from around the world. The FBIS Daily Reports were issued in either paper or microfiche format and are shelved in the Government Documents Collection in the Anschutz Library. Dates of coverage: 1975-1996. Additional content to existing databases:
  • CAJ full-text database (China academic journals 中国学术期刊网) KU Libraries currently subscribes to the full text content of Series F: literature/history/philosophy (1994+). Wheat Law Library extended the coverage to Series G: Politics/military affairs/law (2005+)

Asahi Newspaper database expanded

Asahi newspaper back files were added in Kikuzo Visual II. Now we are able to search:

Asahi Newspaper (daily), 1879-present (1879-1984 are in PDF format)
Shukan Asahi (weekly magazine)
AERA (weekly magazine)
Chiezo (dictionary of contemporary terms)
Jinbutsu (Biography)
Historical photograhps (1930s-1945)

Airiti (華藝 Databases Trial

Five databases trial starts from now until June 12. Access is restricted to KU IP access/on campus access.  These databases are offered by Airiti (華藝, Taipei, Taiwan.

1. CEPS (Chinese Electronic Periodical Services): CEPS is a collection of full-text periodicals that are selected from China and Taiwan.  Those titles from China overlaps with those are in the China Academic Journals databases.

2. TEPS (The Taiwan Electronic Periodical Service): TEPS is a full-text periodicals database which includes more than 1,022 periodicals from Taiwan.

3. NPM Online (National Palace Museum Online): It contains 20,000+ images and summaries of artifacts that are collected in the NPM.
The database is classified by seven subjects: Painting, Calligraphy, Ceramics, Jade, Buddhist, and others. Language choices are English, Traditional Chinese, Simplified Chinese, and Japanese.

4. CETD (Chinese Electronic Thesis & Dissertation): Full-text theses and dissertations from Taiwan top universities.

5. AiritiBooks Complete collections from 500 popular publishers in Taiwan. Search by book title and author. No special browser is required.

New Korean Studies Databases

E-Korean Studies
E-Korean Studies E-Korean Studies is an integrated and comprehensive mega database of various contents and sources in all academic disciplines of Korean Studies.

DBpia 누리미디어 학회지 DB (new!!)
A full-text database includes over 580 Korean scholarly journals. The journal titles are arranged by subjects and all journals are available from the first issue. Various search indexes are available by title, author, keyword and journal title.
